For Ukrainians, a home is more than walls, a roof, and windows. During the war, it became a symbol of security, memory, family, and the right to a normal life. When Russian strikes destroy homes, they try to destroy not only the buildings, but also the sense of support. But this is where the Ukrainian experience of reconstruction begins.
The documentary “Home. A Place of Strength” tells the story of people who lost their homes, survived the occupation and shelling, but did not lose their ability to hold on to the future. Next to them are Dobrobat volunteers who arrive after the strikes, close broken windows, remove debris, repair roofs, and give people their first sense of security back.
This is a film not just about repairs. This is a story about how a new form of solidarity is born in destroyed cities and villages: when helping strangers becomes a way to protect the country, and rebuilding a home is an act of faith in Ukraine.
